Small habits. Lasting sparkle.

A few thoughtful ways to look after your favourite pieces.

Give each piece its own place

Store pieces individually in a soft pouch or a padded compartment. Keeping diamond jewellery apart helps prevent stones and settings from scratching or damaging one another.

Keep cleaning gentle

For suitable diamond jewellery, mild soap, warm water and a soft brush can help remove everyday dirt. Avoid abrasive cleaners and household bleach. Clean over a bowl rather than an open drain, and handle the setting gently.

Treatments, other gemstones and delicate or older settings can need different care. Check with your jeweller before trying a cleaning method, especially an ultrasonic or steam cleaner.

Know when to take it off

Remove rings before gardening, exercise or work that could knock the stone or catch the setting. A diamond is hard, but it can still chip.

If a stone moves or a prong catches on fabric, put the piece aside and ask a jeweller to inspect it. A professional check is also a good time to discuss the right cleaning routine for that particular piece.
